Job Summary

At Aberdeen Business School, our staff have been instrumental in developing our reputation as one of the leading providers of management and professional education in Scotland.

We are looking for a part-time lecturer with the same passion and pride in their organisation, to deliver our CIPD accredited MSc Human Resource Management course in both online and on campus modes, plus teaching across other appropriate postgraduate and undergraduate courses from the School's portfolio. The part-time hours each week will be timetable dependant across each of the 3 annual semesters.

You might currently be in industry with a wealth of experience to pass on to the next generation, or you may already be in a teaching/research role within a Human Resource or Human Resource Management environment. Either way, you'll have an affinity with our teaching methods ensuring a practical approach to business and professional education, in a dynamic learning environment. Naturally, we also expect you to have a masters degree and a professional qualification in a relevant discipline.

You'll benefit from the support of a hard working team and if you're new to lecturing, you'll have access to a mentor, previous materials and be expected to undertake a PGCert in Higher Education Learning and Teaching. You can expect a generous contribution to a final salary pension scheme and 46 days holidays (inc stats) per annum (pro rata). If you think you can bring passion, pride and commitment to this role, visit www.rgu.ac.uk/jobs to apply.

Research in this area of Aberdeen Business School includes: leadership and organisational development; professional development, consumer behaviour, employee engagement, corporate social responsibility, asset management, leadership and safety/ security management, organisational culture and non-technical skills. Staff have received funding from various sources, including industry, government and research councils (EPSRC, ESRC). Research findings are disseminated at national and international academic, professional body and industry conferences, at public sector and business events and published in academic journals, practitioner journals, as well as monographs and reports. The area of professional development/ non-technical skills is noted for its research impact.

Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience.
Candidates with limited/no lecturing experience will be placed on the first point of the scale, although consideration will be given to a market supplement (reviewed bi-annually) for those with specific industry experience.
